Festival Maas

Dutch Mountain Film Festival

The Dutch Mountain Film Festival gives meaning to the landscape of South Limburg with films and documentaries about mountain landscapes, mountaineering and mountain culture. The days are diverse and something for everyone. While one can challenge himself with sporting activities, the other can choose to attend exhibitions, lectures and workshops related to the theme 'ECHO'. The DMFF is an excellent outing for the healthy outdoors person, the avid mountaineer and interested film buff.

Ice Museum

Life-size ice sculptures sculpted by Dutch Icecarving Champion, Sander Hurkens, can now be seen in the Ice Museum in Schimmert! During a trip to the Ice Museum you can not only cool off from a wonderful, warm summer, but you also learn everything about ice cream, from production to history. And you can make your own ice sculpture completely in line with the theme. Please note: the Ice Museum can only be visited with an online reservation.
