[Utrecht, March 15 2024] – Mews, the industry-leading hospitality cloud with almost 20% marketshare in the Netherlands, has been chosen by Bastion Hotels, the most successful independently owned hotel chain in the Netherlands, to power their fast-growing collection of hotels.
Bastion Hotels operate 34 hotels across the Netherlands, 33 of which are Bastion branded alongside one Best Western Hotel. The brand has been welcoming guests since the 1980s and is known throughout the country for its warm hospitality with reliable quality.
“It was time to make the move to a cloud-native PMS and discover all the extra benefits it brings for staff and guests,” said Dave Pieters, CEO at Bastion Hotels. “Bastion Hotels is in transition to become a more tech-oriented business operation in which the guest journey is further optimized. Following this, we will aim to further refine and streamline both our primary and secondary operational processes. Mews stood out as the solution that would transform our operations while keeping guests at the heart of our hotels.”
It was important that the team could smoothly run their operations from the brand’s headquarters in Utrecht. Mews Multi-Property provides scalable hotel management for chains and groups. Centralized user management makes it easy to control roles and permissions across the business, while single sign-on (SSO) ensures that all employees sign in to Mews securely, whether they’re onsite, at head office, or on the road. The unique way of working at Bastion Hotels and the experience with Multi-Property helps Mews take the product to an even higher level.
“It's thrilling to see more and more big, established hospitality brands like Bastion Hotels recognize the transformative potential of Mews,” said Matt Welle, Mews CEO. “We’re so excited to work with their brilliant team and provide even more remarkable experiences for their hundreds of thousands of guests across The Netherlands.”
Bastion Hotels is an efficiently organized organization where the automation and standardization of processes play a very important role in continuously improving the guest experience. With Mews, they can automate and streamline many of the tasks throughout the guest journey that would traditionally require a physical touch point. Online check-in allows guests to skip the reception desk admin ahead of their stay, while self-serve Mews Kiosks will help guests check in upon arrival.
“Mews is the leading PMS in the Dutch market,” continued Pieters. “We spoke to many local hoteliers who were full of praise for the knowledge and passion of the Mews team. Combine this with a proven track record in product iteration and localization for our market, and it’s easy to see why we came to this decision.”
Connectivity was of paramount importance to Bastion Hotels. Mews Marketplace hosts all of the brand’s key integration partners with zero connection fees, while they can build a connection to their own booking engine via Mews Open API.
The collaboration will enable further enhancement of the guest experience, optimizing every aspect of the journey from booking to stay, setting a new standard for hospitality excellence.
