LEGO® exhibition in CODA Apeldoorn

Discover the world of LEGO®! You have probably played with the colored plastic blocks and figures in the past, and perhaps you still do so now. During the Traveling Bricks exhibition you will discover all kinds of means of transport from history made from LEGO® blocks! From carriages and cars to planes and ships, you travel through an evolution of modes of transport, each built by professional LEGO® artists. The exhibition can be admired at CODA Museum in Apeldoorn until August 25, 2024. Nice to know: at the end of the exhibition you can also go wild with 200,000 stones. Build your own boat, rocket or non-existent means of transport!

Looking for ticklish animals on the Forest Animal Trail

Ready for a forest walk in Apeldoorn? Apeldoorn is surrounded by nature reserves!. It is therefore not surprising that in addition to people, animals also like to spend time in the Apeldoorn forests. At the Information Center at 't Leesten in Ugchelen you can pick up the Kriebeldiertjes booklet and a bag with search materials. Creatures are the smallest animals that live in nature. With the help of the booklet, you can look for the ticklish animals during a walk in the Apeldoorn forest. Take a good look around yourself, because the creatures can be hidden everywhere...

During the walk at Staatsbosbeheer you will learn a lot about the ticklish animals using the activity booklet full of fun assignments. The assignments have to do with how the animals live and how they behave. The route along the Bosdierenpad is approximately 1 km. Can you find the little creatures just like a woodpecker?

More information can be found here.

Climbing and scrambling in Berg en Bos

Be the monkey at Klimbos Apeldoorn in Berg en Bos city park! The Climbing Forest is a fun activity in the middle of the Veluwe for the whole family. Do you dare to compete to see who can get to the other side the fastest? With the choice of 10 different routes you can enjoy endless climbing fun! For the little hanging monkeys you will find the Playground next to the Climbing Forest. Here the little ones enjoy all kinds of climbing and play equipment where they can also play with water on hot days. With the many benches in the Playground you can also relax here and enjoy a nice picnic.

Not climbed enough yet? Then climb the highest lookout tower in the Veluwe. After a steep climb of 128 steps you rise above the treetops and have a view of the entire forest. Definitely worth it! The park is open from Wednesday to Sunday in June. During the week you can enjoy full climbing fun from 12:30 PM to 6:30 PM and on weekends from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM. Looking up history in Arnhem

Arnhem played a major role in the liberation of the Netherlands during the Second World War. Although this was years ago, you can still find traces of the famous Battle of Arnhem everywhere. We have listed the best events and exhibitions for this month in Arnhem here.

Visit the Dutch Open Air Museum

This month you can attend the exhibition Sustainable Dutch Design in the Open Air Museum. In collaboration with art school ArtEZ, a selection of interesting contemporary design projects are on display that are inspired by the museum. The exhibition can only be visited on weekends and public holidays, but don't worry! The museum offers many other exhibitions and fun activities.

80 years of Market Garden

Did you know that the name Market Garden was used as a code word during World War II? Two operations were devised to liberate Arnhem. One from the air and the other from the ground so that they could liberate the rest of the Netherlands from Arnhem and penetrate the heart of Nazi Germany. This year marks the 80th anniversary of Operation Market Garden.

To commemorate this important event, the exhibition 80 years of the Market Garden can be seen in the Betuwe War Museum “ The Island ” in Heteren. Special to see and very educational, for both young and old. The War Museum is located near Arnhem, about an 18-minute drive. More information about this exhibition can be found here. Have you become curious and would you like to discover more about the Second World War in Arnhem? You can learn more about this at both the Arnhem War Museum and the Airborne Museum at the Bridge.

Admire art and nature in Nijmegen

From the history city of Arnhem we go to the art city of Nijmegen. The southern neighbors are not afraid to be a little creative and they like to show this. We have listed a few of the most interesting art events here.

POPOP art in the Molenpoort

Attention art lovers! In the Molenpoort shopping center in the heart of Nijmegen, POPOP art has the first exhibition called ' Mini Mall Movement '. It is an exhibition by the Parcours group, consisting of four talented artists. Based on their own interests and working methods, they have found a connection with each other and create a whole from separate art objects.

The exhibition is described as an obstacle course of works of art and as a world full of wonder, stimulation and humor, where people roll out with a big smile, while wondering what just happened to them.

Curious about what awaits you? The exhibition can be admired on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. More information can be found here.

Marco Käller in the Seven Summers gallery

Water, water and more water! The artist Marco Kaller is completely in love with it. His passion for the water started when he was young. He met the most diverse people with the same passion for water and yet they all shared the same fascination: the sea and the view of those endless waters.

Kaller lives and works in Makkum, close to the IJsselmeer and the Wadden Sea. Life in Friesland is characterized by living with water. This gives rise to wonderful stories about living with the sea, mudflat walking and finding pieces of shipwrecks. For the artist, this provides a source of inspiration for new forms in different materials.

Curious about the works of art? The gallery is open from Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00. More information about the exhibition can be found here.
